How to Identify the Generation of the Processor

We know there are some generations of Intel processors,

1^st Generation

2^nd Generation

3^rd Generation

4^th Generation

5^th Generation

6^th Generation

Most of the people have Desktop Computers, Laptops but they don’t know how to identify the generation of the processor, when you want to buy a Computer, then you should have an idea about the generations of the processors, it is very easy to identify.

Only you have to do is,

Right Click on My Computer/Computer

Select Properties

Then you will see the details about the processor like below and there will be 4 Digit numbers after the model of your processer, check it.

If that numbers are in

1000 - 1999 Range – 1^st Generation

2000 – 2999 Range – 2^nd Generation

3000 – 3999 Range – 3^rd Generation

4000 – 4999 Range – 4^th Generation

Likewise you can identify the Generation of the processor which you have now.

Above example processor is a 3^rd Generation processor, hope you could have an idea about this
